New and Improved! - Advanced 24PetWatch Lost and Found Recovery Service for PetPoint users

 

We are happy to announce that the development and testing of the new Lost and Found Module within PetPoint is now complete.  This new module, already in use by several animal welfare organizations, integrates the 24PetWatch lost pet recovery call centre directly with the organizations running PetPoint. 

 

In the event of a lost pet emergency this new module allows 24PetWatch lost pet recovery specialists to extend their search beyond the over 900,000 cats and dogs registered in the 24PetWatch database, to conduct "virtual searches" of all animal welfare organizations running PetPoint for animals brought in as strays and reported found.

 

The ability for the 24PetWatch staff to conduct the search remotely within the inventory of animal welfare organziations gives pet owners the opportunity to benefit from the most pro-active pet registry service in North America and greatly reduces the burden on animal welfare organizations during a lost pet emergency.

 

With over 520 animal welfare organizations within the network PetPoint now hosts data on over 55,000 animals being housed today in animal control facilities, shelters, humane societies and rescue groups.  In 2006 the PetPoint users accounted for over 470,00 animal intakes.
