OAKVILLE, ON, April 23, 2007 – H-E-B and Pethealth Inc. (TSXV:PTZ) (“Pethealth” or together “The Companies”) are pleased to announce the launch of the MAX Pet Insurance program, now available to H-E-B customers in Texas. The comprehensive pet insurance program covers all accidents and unexpected illnesses that may happen to dogs and cats. The two Companies first announced that they had signed a three-year Strategic Alliance Agreement in August, 2006.

“We are very excited to offer this affordable pet insurance program to our customers as it allows them the opportunity to take care of their pets in the case of an unanticipated illness or accident,” said Scott Pry, Business Development Manager, Grocery Procurement & Merchandising, H-E-B. “This program is the first of what we expect to be several new initiatives designed to meet the growing needs of our customers who have pets.”

One in three pets needs emergency veterinary treatment every year, while two out of every three pets will experience a significant health problem during their lifetime. When enrolled, the MAX Pet Insurance program provides H-E-B customers a simple way to prepare for these situations, covering costs from prescribed medication, x-rays, surgeries and hospitalization.

“Over the past several months, we have been working closely with H-E-B to develop a program that provides tremendous value to owners of dogs and cats in Texas who shop at H-E-B stores,” said Mark Warren, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pethealth. “We think the program’s design and its branding will resonate with H-E-B customers.”

The MAX program represents the first private labelled pet insurance program for any mass retailer in the United States and is now offered to H-E-B customers online at www.heb.com/petinsurance, as well as through a dedicated call centre at 1-866-HEB-MAXX. The Max brand name and logo for the pet insurance program were designed and are owned by H-E-B. H-E-B currently operates the MAX Birthday Club for dogs, which was started in 2005.
