Press Press Releases 2007
Oakville , ON – February 2, 2007 . Pethealth Inc. (TSX VENTURE: PTZ) (“Pethealth” or “The Company”), is pleased to announce that it has completed the development and testing of the Lost and Found Module for its PetPoint animal management system (www.petpoint.com). This new module, now in use, integrates the 24-hour, seven-day-a-week, 24PetWatch (www.24petwatch.com) lost pet recovery call centre directly with the organizations running PetPoint. This market-leading innovation now allows the Company’s lost pet recovery specialists to conduct “virtual searches” of all animal welfare organisations running PetPoint for animals brought in as strays and reported found. Today, over 520 animal welfare organisations in the United States and Canada have licensed PetPoint making it the most widely used animal management system in North America. Currently, approximately one animal welfare organisation each business day moves to PetPoint. Pethealth is the only company in North America providing both a full animal management software system to the animal welfare community and RFID (microchip) technology and related lost pet recovery support to pet owners in both Canada and the United States. As the only web-based ASP (“Application Service Provider”) solution, PetPoint currently hosts data on over 55,000 animals being housed today in animal control facilities, shelters, humane societies and rescue groups. In 2006, those organisations using PetPoint accounted for over 470,000 “intakes” of dogs, cats and other animals. “With the launch of this new lost and found system, 24PetWatch offers pet owners the most proactive pet registry service in North America,” said Steve Zeidman, Chief Information Officer of Pethealth. “The development of our lost and found module further distinguishes our service levels from those that are offered by our competitors. Only 24PetWatch staff can conduct the search for lost pets remotely within the inventory of animal welfare organisations, thus reducing the burden on these organisations to assist in the lost pet recovery process as is still recommended by our competitors.” The Company is also pleased to report other selected milestones in the development of its non-insurance business:
